Live Scan: Point Your Camera at the Show Floor and Know What Everything Is Worth

Every collector knows the show-floor problem: a table of cards, a dealer watching, and no fast way to know what anything is actually worth. Pulling up sold listings one card at a time is slow, awkward, and half the time you’re not even sure you found the right card. Live Scan turns that entire ritual into pointing your phone.

Try Live Scan free — point it at any cardInstant identification and live values for raw cards and graded slabs, with voice readout for hands-free scanning.

What it does

Open Live Scan, point the camera at a card, and tap Scan (or turn on Auto and just sweep the table). Each card comes back in a few seconds as a chip: what it is, what it’s worth raw, what it’s worth at gem mint, and its gem rate — the real odds of a 10 based on population data.

Graded slabs get the stronger treatment: Live Scan reads the cert number off the label and routes it through real cert verification — so you’re not getting a visual guess, you’re getting the registry’s exact card, grade, and a live market value. For PSA slabs, it adds population context: how many exist at that grade, and how many higher. “Pop 1,213, 42 higher” changes a negotiation.

Turn on voice readout and the results are spoken aloud — phone at chest height, eyes on the table, values in your ear. It’s the closest thing to a heads-up display the hobby has, on hardware you already own.

Using it at a show

Etiquette first: ask before you hover over someone’s case, and scan from your side of the table. Most dealers don’t mind — a buyer who knows the comps is a buyer who can actually pull the trigger.

The workflow that works: sweep the cards you care about with Auto mode, let the session tray stack up, then review the chips before you talk numbers. Every scan is deduplicated — pointing at the same card twice doesn’t double it — and the running session total tells you what the stack is worth before you make an offer on all of it.

When a card is worth taking home, one tap adds it to your Slabline collection — raw cards enter with their live price-guide value, slabs enter cert-verified. From there it’s in your Score, your insurance schedule, and — if it’s headed to a grader — your shipment manifest.

Free to use, honest by design

Live Scan is free — guests get a daily allowance, free accounts get more, and paid tiers scan without limits. When a frame can’t be read confidently, Live Scan says so instead of guessing: no fabricated matches, no invented prices. Values come from the same comparable-sales and price-guide engine behind every number in Slabline.

If you’re at a show this summer — point it at the first table you see. The floor feels different when every card answers the only question that matters.
